Costantin Brancusi (1876-1957) was one of the founding figures of modern sculpture and one of the most original artists of the twentieth-century. His groundbreaking carvings introduced abstraction and primitivism into sculpture for the first time, and were as important as Picasso’s paintings to the development of modern art.

Vlad Tepes was a French black metal band which was formed in Brest in 1992. The name originated from the 15th century Wallachian ruler, the inspiration for Bram Stoker's fictional vampire Dracula. The group belongs to The Black Legions. Worlok Drakksteim also has a side project named Black Murder. He is the composer of that band, while Wlad Drakksteim is the composer for Vlad Tepes. Vlad Tepes were one of the Black legions bands featured in the magazine The Black Plague - First Chapter (And Maybe Last One) in 1995.
After a number of self-released demos, the demo-tape War Funeral March (1994) was released on the American market by Full Moon Productions. It was followed the next year by March to the Black Holocaust, a split release with fellow Black Legions act Belkètre, issued on the french Embassy Productions. In 1996, another split album with the Black Legions project Torgeist, Black Legions Metal, was released by the French Drakkar Productions. Most of the releases don't surpass the 666 copies, unless they are bootlegged.

Von was a Second Wave black metal band from San Francisco, California, USA. They are thought to be the first American black metal band, and have strongly influenced the second wave of black metal.
Designed to be the ultimate minimalist black metal sendup, Von used the most basic riffs and songwriting concepts available to present a vision of demonic music as frenetic, simplistic and chaotic sound emerging in a continuity of linear energy. Pulsing drums play occasional fills but otherwise vary little, and guitars drone between two or three notes in a main riff that has one or two counterpoints in transitional subspecies of riffs which transfer direction in song development. Hilariously, Bathory-style disposable lead guitar stitches through many of these songs, making random-sounding diatribes with a sense of humor in their choice of points of harmonization.
Von have gained a cult following in the black metal underground since their disbandment and the few recordings of Von are considered classic and pioneering black metal. Prominent black metal bands have covered Von, either on record or live (or both), including The Beast, Dark Funeral, Enthroned,Krieg Taake and Watain (who are also named after a Von song), to mention a few examples. Also, in addition to spreading copies of the Satanic Blood demo, Varg Vikernes of Burzum did arguably direct promotion for Von by wearing their t-shirt in one of his murder trial sessions.

Morbid was a thrash/black metal band from Stockholm, Sweden that formed in 1986.
Morbid was formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1986. With Per Yngve "Dead" Ohlin as the group's founder and mastermind, they had a revolving door of members before settling on the line-up of John "John Lennart" Hagström and "TG" on guitars, Jens Näsström on bass and Lars-Göran Petrov on drums. When "TG" left the band, Ulf Cederlund took over. The band then recorded their debut demo, December Moon, at Thunderload Studios in Stockholm on December 5-6, 1987. This was the only recording featuring this line-up, as Hagström quit and Ohlin left for Norway to join the legendary black metal band Mayhem. The remains of the band tried to carry on, and brought in photographer John Scarisbrick as a new vocalist. Scarisbrick happened to live near a recording studio named Sunlight, which would later gain some notoriety in death metal circles, recording bands like Entombed and Dismember. It was there that the band recorded their swan song, another demo entitled The Last Supper, in September 1988. The band faded as Petrov and Cederlund started Nihilist, which eventually turned into Entombed. Näsström later continued in the bands Contras and Skull.
Although Morbid only officially released two demos, they gained a certain cult-status after their demise, most likely due at least in part to Ohlin's efforts with Mayhem, and the fact that he committed suicide in 1991. Both the demo-recordings and various live/rehearsal tracks have later made it onto vinyl and CD, on both official and bootleg releases.
